I'd be happy with the colour of melted chocolate (milk not white or dark ). Really need to look at a colour swatch thats not on a computer as they all look different depending on which site you go to. :
Did a little welding today. Edge of front 1/4 now all welded up. Inside the A pillar: Old captive nut that was just a little too 'soft': New bit wot i made to fill the gap.
Bit of rot behind top hinge. Cut out and awaiting some more metal to be welded in. Holey spare wheel well batman. > Rotten scuttle corner and bonnet hinge mount.
Top hinge mount welded up and A pillar gutter seam rebuilt: Other side of seam: Wing mounting captive nut welded into place: Engine lid catch plate welded on better.
Rust cured and seam sealed my replacement from clip. Gave it a coat of etch then remembered to cut the hole for access to steering box adjustment. Made some cover plates to seal them up.
Trial fitted the new front panels: Fits fairly well. Will need a little trimming and tidying to get the fit perfect but i'm happy with it. Cut the rotten rear valance off today: Hole left behind: Bumper mounts are OK which is nice.
New rear valance needs a little work on a few dents but its 100 times better than the original one and only cost me £16 posted.
Planning on getting it done for Tatton Park in August as that was the last show i went to in it in 2000. Got a few days of helping a mate do some demolition work which should pay for a gazebo or something to work under (and maybe some of the bits i still need).
