Is the thermostat you've fitted ok? It looks expanded to me which I think means it's a duffun (unless it's hot). I'm a confused novice so probably talking testicles.
Good point, I did think about testing it the other day but forgot..Ill have a look tomorrow, see if it works or not. I did buy the set up as working but cant be sure! Thx for the reminder
The thermostat should expand when hot, and that one does look fully expanded so will have no travel left. You might have to replace it with a type 1 thermostat and do a small mod to fit the cable. A friend gave me a good tip - you can test the thermostat in situ with a hot air gun, both to heat it up and cool it down.
the calibrated blow lamp failed to move it, nor did the vortex tube air blower to chill it back down again! its buggered

My money is on the bellows being split, Ive got a couple of knackered ones here like that, don't know why ive kept them. Just a hoarder I guess

That's a bit expensive! Its split in two locations as per what Mick suggested! We have a cunning plan, however..in a couple of weeks whence the fan shroud is fitted
you might be able to send them to the guy in the states that re-makes them and get a discount off a new one?
