Marmalade 1979 double cab

the engine is back in.I replaced the two heater cables that operate the pods as one had snapped off and the other had lost its end.cv joints time to see what's good and what's badtwo ok I ordered 4 so I now have two spare. I didn't replace any on my bus 4 years ago so will check them after all our days away are done.starter appears dead new one ordered.

New starter motor.also new ignition switch started insulating the cabthey don't make a panel for the side door.so I used one for a splitty. took a bit of fetling as its sort of the same shape.it's all welded up now but forgot to take a pic

Gear selector contact was a bit knackered.had a few people point me in the direction of a new one.but fitting such a small bit that literally slides on had its challenges.the mount that bolts to the floor was seized up one bolt snapped off. The stick tensioner snapped also.at this stage its just a case of tapping out two pins to release the shaft.Marmalade with new mirrors.

Some more progress I've re padded the drivers seat now got passenger one out to do. Cheers for the tips @JamesLey
Sprayed the bed powder coated the wheels looking for somewhere to mount fire extinguisher.

Fitted seat belts in the back also one in the middle new door seal on back door (makes door stick out)
New plastic glove box and Dash media centre.
Still lots to do

Nice job on the seats! They're not easy to get off without tearing if they're originals.
I'm liking the touches of green you've added throughout the build.

Looks like Ian bought a second hand vent grill and couldn't be arsed to paint it orange.

 

Really starting to come together now.
