The positive new is it could be worse. By worse I mean I could have bought it, and sharing these pictures with everyone on here. I see this as a personal win all day long. Of course - my win is your loss - I just hope said loss is not seen by the partner/significant other/benefactors named in will. At which point - it just got worse.

Ouch, all the easy to get at parts then! Double outlet is a return for FI. Your tank looks... untrustworthy from here even if the outlets themselves were in good nick.
Tanks really aren’t worth messing with, buy new. At least you can get at them easier if you need to change the sender at some point when that one fails
