I listened to it on that newfangled wireless thingy. From what I heard, I agree, Adams shoulda headlined but His Rodness didn't sound that bad to me.......not quite sure why they played "I'm every woman" half way through though.....

  7. The "I'm every woman" thing was just his backing singers whilst he was off the stage! He went to get changed though as a man of advanced years I suspect he needed the toilet. The golden rule with playing a festival is it's not specifically your audience so just play the hits. Instead Rod chose to play some rarer, more obscure stuff which was probably great for his hardcore fans. Trouble is they only made up about 10% of the crowd leaving the rest of us uninterested after about 20 minutes. By the time we left hundreds of others were streaming out too.

We saw him at Glasto in 2002. He did play all his hits including eartha kitt like Baby Jane. He even had a sly dig at Stereophonics for daring to play Handbags and Gladrags (they played the Friday night) which I didn't think very nice of him. He seemed to be off stage every other number to change into a new set of clothes. That said, I don't really mind Rod. His new album sounds pretty dire from what I've heard apart from Stay With Me Tonight which sounds like classic 70s Rod. My brother Bill saw The Faces at Birmingham Odeon, would have been not long after Ronnie Lane left, so Tetsu was on Bass. Still, must have been a great gig.

  9. I went to that Hyde Park a few years ago to see Bruce Springsteen it was brilliant until
Paul Mcartney got on stage he was appalling .its a shame when people go on too long.bless him he tried
