Last concert

  1. I ended up being a last-minute chaperone to two 14 year-old girls at a 'Five Seconds Of Summer' gig at Birmingham earlier this year after my wife pulled out last minute. I was there with about 10,000 screaming girls and 2,000 equally embarrassed dads but have to admit it was a good show, even if i did spend all of it sat on my ar$e!

The last concert i chose to go to was The Monkees last year, just a short while before Davy Jones' untimely death! Loved the re-runs of their shows when i was a kid in the 70's so the only disappointment was that they didn't sing their trademark "Here we come..." theme tune!

Steve Winwood & Steeley Dan in 2011 was the last "big" concert. Been to a lot of smaller, more intimate, gigs since though.

Madness last month was my last big gig, and a madness tribute was a few months before on a small scale. (I like a bit of Madness lol)

The last band I saw was The Levellers at their festival in August. I sort of think I've been to another gig since but can't remember. Friends have got us tkts for a bit jazzy woman singer who I don't really like and have forgotten her name! Fancy seeing Tom Robinson who is on tour now and The Selecter in Dec :)

Went to see Squeeze last week in Manchester with John Cooper Clarke supporting. Peter Kaye appeared to introduce them. Their new album is pretty good :)

  9. Kiss - FFS - it was enough to put me off ever going to watch anyone ever again - but I'll give U2 a go on Sunday.

  10. We went to Hyde Park a few weeks ago for the Radio2 festival in a day thing. We had a good day out with some friends but the headline act was Rod bloody Stewart. We gave him 20 minutes but he was carp! On the other hand Bryan Adams was great, he should have headlined.

    I'd rather buy a T5. I hope you're not too disappointed.

  12. There are two sorts of people in this world, those who don't like U2, and those who have seen their spectacular live shows.
Granted the music all sounds the bloody same and I'll be two hours not able to put a title to a toon, but it'll be a whole load of sparkly fun.

I saw them once, before they were big. It was enough to put me off for life.
