Like one of those answer records, as an homage to Barry's post, what was your last concert? Mine was the White Stripes in Brixton, 2003. ( i didnt think it was that long ago) loads of gigs though.
The Who supported by Paul Weller in Hyde Park this summer. Not a bad day out Got a few more lined up before the end of the year (Frank Turner, Stereophonics, The Selecter...)
Shepherd's Bush empire as good as any venue IMO saw Wilko Johnson there a little while back great venue Almost as good as seeing Dr Feelgood at the Nashville in West Ken one of my favourite pup venues of all time
Barenaked Ladies at Birmingham last week. Next concert is Def Leopard, Whitesnake and Black Star Riders at Nottingham then Thunder next year at Sheffield. Going to concerts is one hobby I've maintained since my sixth form years.
Good question, had a good think then my wife pointed out my last was the same as my first, Roxy Music O2 2011, nearly 40 years apart I think this could be a good time to retire
Sad to say that the last gig of any note I went to was the late great Rory Gallagher, just him and his battered Strat, a Vox AC30 and a young girl on bass.
Donovan, this Saturday just gone, at the RNCM, Manchester. Great night, knew all the songs. Bless him, his singing was a bit off key at times but still an enjoyable evening. He told some great stories between the songs too, about getting "busted" even before the Beatles and the Stones, going to India with the Beatles, hanging out at Lennons house. Top fella
Last concert, if you call it a proper concert was Dr and the Medics at Butlins t'other week, was bloody brilliant!
My son took me to the Queens of the Stone Age concert - Manchester - November 2013 - I think I was the oldest there - my ears are still ringing!
As mentioned in alternative thread my first was Queen at NEC, my last was Spandau Ballet at the NEC again about 3 years ago...... Spookily in 1981 at the Queen concert Tony Hadley walked through the audience to go backstage, some weird symmetry there I think?!
