Keep tin top or cut for sunroof

Discussion in 'General Discussion' started by Leer32, Nov 19, 2012.

  1. Currently at the early stages of my restoration and have been looking at open top bays with sunroofs or what I think is like a convertible top (opens and closes).

Currently have a tin top which is in good condition is it worth cutting and putting one in ??

What companies do these conversions uk based ?

What sort of prices do they start from ?

Has anyone had this done ?

Good points bad points of having the conversion ?

    Anyone have any picture ??

Thinking about having the whole roof done or 3/4

People fit rag tops because it's a simple/cheap solution to a knackered pop-top.
    Keep it tin - tin-tops rock. :)

keep or sell it but don't wreck it. tintops are hip baby

  4. I'll sell you an original Sunroof bus ;)

  5. I was going through this exact same situation like 2 weeks ago. ive decided to stick with my pop top as a lot of people say a rag top cheapens the van. Parisbeetles.co.uk do the ragtops and they are about £500-£600 for a nice big one.

but i would stick with the tintop, they look awesome!

  6. So that seems pretty one sided looks like keeping the tin top wins ;D

  14. I'd keep it tin top - I cope with camping in mine, I just developed a hunch back......but then it's not my van - if you want a poptop go for it.
