    I remember these from the late 60's, we used to save them up and send them to a family friend who was serving in the Australian Army Engineers.
    They carefully smoothed all surfaces and then used them for horse racing in the Officers Mess.

    They came in a packet of, I think, some type of Nabisco cereal ..... probably shredded wheat or something.
