No one from my council works past about 4pm or weekends so I wouldn’t worry about it. Just crack on and burn what you want. Especially if it’s single use plastic, cos then it’s not single use anymore. It’s a win win. Proper easy to solve this global warm up stuff. Not sure why everyone’s got their knickers in a twist.
Quite a few petitions there to sign, might be better just to not go in for a while and see what happens, the kids may become a bit more healthy as well
Why do my neighbours buy so much plastic bottled water from France. Stuff out the tap is perfectly good. I have to offset their bad stuff by filling my gardens with plants, no grass or plastic lawns, just plants. My plants are sucking the CO2 out the atmosphere and giving me lots of oxygen. and all those lovely vegetables to enjoy. I thought the references to plastic crap referred to the junk food.
I watched them HFW programme, McD's kicked the kids out of their HQ reception area to begin with, sent down head of security to escort 2 kids from the premises. They got in a bit later to drop off their petition but that was all.
I hope it will be in time but until then... there’s lots more we can do before we get to what for some kids will be treats; eating in a muckdonalds and receiving a crappy toy. I was thinking more of the socio-economic group that will suffer; little grubby-faced urchins who look forward to a special treat as it’s the only one they’ll get as Santa repeatedly overlooks their requests for things their wealthier friends get Ok, maybe ladling it on there but my point is that it’s not going to be the *knit your own muesli types who will miss the crappy plastic free toys, nor the kids who have been brought up eating out at good restaurants and know that McDonald’s isn’t the healthiest and the freebies are plastic rubbish. it’s the ones who can least afford it who will likely miss out - and they seem to be always targeted first. I’m guessing people can refuse the toys or just not go in at all? That’d be a start. *for clarification I’m from a hand knitted muesli family and would be surprised if my nephews have ever been in a McDonald’s. I’ve also only ever gone in when needing a pee or a really cold brain-freezing drink in ridiculous heat in foreign climes. Am certainly no supporter of fast food multinationals.
It’s a complete disgrace thar parents overlook kids at Christmas. That’s what bright house is for surely?
These days its all about money and big business and no regard for folks. Big business do whatever they can get away with if it makes them more money for their fat cat directors and shareholders. If their marketing bods think they will make more money giving away a free plastic toy, they will. Then their competitors do the same and so it rolls on. The only way to stop it is to boycott their junk food outlets or campaign for legislation against it. But the rich clowns in government are probably shareholders making their money. The junk food firms will always do well as they sell a big meal for little money, and every month there seems to be another pizza/burger place pop up as its good business. Personally I don't do junk food, I prefer to grow it, cook it and eat it. But once in a while when I pop down to help my son with his vehicles we go to kfc for a quick lunch and we seem to be the only thin people in there, many of the customers are really obese and some struggle to sit at the table.
Eee! When I were a lad, we used to get plastic toys in Cornflakes packets! I still have my collection of plastic luminous monster fish!
