Remember that what you're trying to get done with Trevor is what other owners have dragged out over years, not weeks. Louey
ONCE, I did it once and only because nobody woke me up! I WILL be in my own bus at techenders - i just may have to push it and finish it there
It was bleak up there last night. The fuel line from the tank is cracked and leaking so will need to replace before I can get it to peter. Going to order some today - this is what’s currently on it, am assuming I just order the same?
Yes that’s the stuff everyone seems to recommend, though I fitted some and it cracked fairly quickly, I’ve gone back to a standard fuel hose , though I did get my R9 off eBay some might not of been the real stuff . Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
any idea how much i'll need? it's just the ones coming off the tank that are cracked but probably should get more anyway - are they lines in the engine bay the same type/size? it's a pain not being able to pop out to check the bus
I think it’s all the same size , I can measure my lines to give you a rough idea but I have a type4 engine with twin carbs , is yours a type 1 ? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I got the Codan stuff off Volksbolts on eBay: https://www.ebay.co.uk/p/2-5m-SAE-J...LEX-CODAN/11010761417?iid=251761784305&chn=ps
how does it differ from this which is cheaper for 3m (it's entirely possible i'm missing the bleeding obvious here!)? https://www.machine7.com/product.php?xProd=13183
I got mine from Volksbolts and the hose has stood up well with no signs of cracking. Used short sections of the same for the fuel tank breather system.
I had read before that the R9 pipe had been good and stood the test of time . 3m will be plenty Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Make sure you use correct fuel hose clamps and not jubilee clips , you might be able to reuse the old ones , stating the obvious but make sure you have something to catch the fuel when you pull off the pipe coming out of the tank ! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
@Ermintrude I put a link to the M7 kit, it includes new clips too, 3m should be plenty. Easy enough to do, plenty of folk on here would be happy to talk you thru the job, if you get stuck.
You don't want R9 you want 100% bio ethanol proof hose. There are loads of threads on here about it. I'll try to link to one, but currently on public transport after dropping my bus at Peters. I'm pretty sure the codan stuff is the right stuff. You will need 2 sizes as you have twin carbs.
