In The Club.....

  1. What (if any) are the advantages to Bay owners if you join The Caravan Club, The Camping And Caravan Club etc?
    Are there others?
    Which is best?
(Hoping to get a ratio better than 5:1 - Comedy answers to sensible ones, we shall see)

  2. The Caravan Club are currently offering a free prostate examination with each membership. Worth considering. Your missus will have to change her name to Jackie, though.

  3. Is @lost-en-france a member?

I am a member of the camping and caravanning club which I find useful for "nice" campsites and have booked sites in France with them. originally to get discount on insurance for the bus.

Also get a knotted handkerchief, shorts with knobbly knees , sandals and gnarly toenails and a pipe to smoke and a big washing up bowl for the dishes.

  5. I don't know. Does he read the Daily Mail?

I'm presently on a Caravan and Camping site in Oxford.
Must admit that I have struggled to find sites with C and C that are where I want to go.
Use Caravan Club a lot. ..both clubs accept old vans like ours. ..suppose it's the novelty value.

we have been members of both currently the caravan club and use them for the small cheep 5 van sites
if you like bigger sites with all toilets and showers etc theirs no real saving

  12. I am in C & C used the Cley site a few times quite a few campers get on there

  13. I recently had a weekend at the C&Cs site in Woodhall Spa. I think I was the only Bay in the village;)
Also had a weekend at Caravan Clubs Hunters Moon site at Wareham and was the only bay there too.

  14. Have you considered naturist camping?

  15. We was with the camping and caravan club. We found it very handy they open up lots off tempory sites over the summer and found them to be cheap. Temp Sites ranged from a farmers field, st Ives bay rugby club right up to a spare field next to a big campsite opened up and you could use all the facilities. We even stayed in a field nr the bristol balloon fiesta.
When we used to go to Cornwall fora few weeks 80% of the time would be spent on temp sites.

I was hoping for at least a seed packet of pampas grass or a lei as a joining gift.

The small print says bring your own bowl for car keys swapping but I can see that turning into a shocker as all the others will be for a Kia.

  19. When I first read it I thought it was going to be about Ted and Freddie getting up to no good and ending up with a little Rascal. :hattip:

One off them that pretends to look like a split.

We were members of the caravan club for many years, never used it much as we hoildayef over here many. When we did use them it was the CL's 98% of the time, the club sites can/are to regimented for us.

If you want sites with bells and whistles they can be good.
