This was the one that Henry came with - but it failed (apparently) when the engine was put back in and fired up.

I'm not sure what the parts options are like for Moggies... whether they suffer from the same issues as VW repro parts vs Original. I don't think there is the range of suppliers that we have.
I'd have no idea if the one pictured was a replacement or an original.

SU rings a bell, yes, cylindrical things, mine was obviously not in it's natural habitat.

Maybe it was a simple earth problem (or something) all along. If the pump body needs to be grounded and you painted everything... :)
    Just guessing.

Nice to know there’s still little car shows going on at this time of year
Hopefully once we’ve done the 100 mile tappet adjustment and head bolt torque, I’ll be out and about putting a few miles on ready for the 500 mile oil and filter change. A good excuse, anyway!

Yep, April 1967, when registration letters ran from January 1st, just before it changed to August 1st.

'CG'... from memory AA and RU were too.
I think Henry spent the first years of his life in Salisbury, before moving to Fordingbridge, and then Cornwall.
It'd be nice to know who his previous owners were, but me Dad can't remember the name of the lady he worked with and whom he bought Henry from.
I can't imagine she'd think Henry would still be on the road!

  12. All this is making me pine for our old Emily, H reg Trafalgar blue. Named Emily as that was the name of the last owner in the book, the mother of the guy we bought it off (he was a Concorde pilot). My daughter is also called Emily, and she wasn't too happy when she discovered what the old Moggie was called. As I said, good job she wasn't a boy, or she'd have be called Morris.

:(I was just about to say what @Zed said; a swift smack with a piece of wood often encourages those SU pumps to behave themselves

Do you know where the pump came from? It's got the look of an internet budget one. Also, if that's PVC fuel hose change it asap - you wouldn't use it on Clem, so don't use it on Henry!
