Jeeez - got to ask , ever seen a Subaru let go like that ?? Speak to Matt - @pkrboo , you could do much worse... Sent from my SM-G960F using Tapatalk
Bizarrely, yes - I think that was the death of my mate's Forester a few years back... shame, I'd secretly been hoping it might one day fall apart leaving just it's engine requiring a new home....
If a Subaru feels it has dishonoured the driver, it may commit suicide. This is the purpose of the long sword under the bonnet.
Gah, bit of epoxy, that'll be fine @MR SAM HODSON , take your rocker covers off, see if you've dropped a valve.
LP showed me one in a T25 with a square hole in the same place and a conrod sitting on top of the case - it had come to him for a tune up because it seemed down on power. lol
the whole bus is a mismatch of colour, nationality and character... thats why i love it, and use it like i do... its rough round the edges, but i know and accept that Sent from my ELE-L09 using Tapatalk
If you decide to rip the heart out of it & go down the Frankenstein scooby route you will have a stronger engine. In the 10 years or so working for a Subaru main dealer the only main engine failures we have seen have been on STI’s which have been remapped. This has been piston skirt damage. Not had any bottom end failures apart from lack of maintenance, lack of oil.
engine out is the easy bit.... im now stuck in a rut of where to go now Sent from my ELE-L09 using Tapatalk
