I'm guessing thats the culprit without stripping it. If it was upgraded then can you tell me if any of the gallery dump valves had stronger springs?.. Viscosity and the cold makes a big difference when youre forcing a huge amount of oil through a cooler with a stock pump and weak OPR valves.

  2. i think they are standard springs. its not a standard pump as it has a differant front cover on it but dont know what size the pump is. it has been like this for the last few years without any problems. i added the filter and thermostatic valve as when i bought the bus it just had a loop out to cooler and then back into block..

Might be a fault with the valve or the way its been plumed in but my money is still on the pump!

Does pump have a take-off? I've seen the "pellet" that's used to block the oilway rattle about until it's small enough to drop back and jam/smash the pump.

  5. as I say drilled block with oil fitting into the case

bottom oil gallery out to thermostatic valve and filter and from there to the cooler and then back to the block into the top oil gallery next to dizzy drive.

  6. no zed its plumbed similar to yours, out at the bottom gallery and back to the top gallery by dizzy drive. as pic above..

and several knocks to ones head later :D

We did the swap fairly easily, old motor and box out in one, same with the other back in, engine mounts lined up perfectly, the only struggle was one bolt on the left hand gearbox hanger at the top

The problem is your old tin, alternator, fan, exhaust system, carb, manifold etc become useless and have to be replaced too. Of course it'll fit otherwise!

  16. 914 engine comes as turnkey with all time wear etc, fully sorted and currently in a bay so can be driven before swap, I have a buyer for the bay minus engine

will keep it in mind and will have to look at the engine to find out what the problem is first. .
what are you looking at for it. ..
