The relatives we are staying with in Portugal have an issue with the boiler...they say the flashing light means low pressure.
From the photo, can anyone ( @merlincat) help, I think I need to top up boiler, but unsure which tap to turn.
It's a Ferroli boiler and the dial I recognise is showing 1/2 bar pressure....I'm sure it should be more.
    Photos to follow.

They make Ferroli boilers in Burton on Trent.

    You’ll need a brum/Spanish hybrid plumber.

Think Gopper with a sun tan and budgie smugglers.

Turned the right hand chrome lever, no sound of water and no increase in pressure.

I’m not an expert but on my ferroli it had two black taps, you opened the one nearest the boiler first, then open the second one slowly and that increases the pressure gauge, close them both once at pressure.

  9. Well the middle one is the gas and the one on right is the cold supply,
You might need to take the case off to find the filling loop
Or the filling loop might be somewhere else on the system

Can I just mention it’s a VERY sorry state of affairs if I’m accountable for a minor gas explosion/warm water in a Spanish villa this morning.

TLB where are your plumbers this morning? Your handy DIY’ers.

My job here is not common sense or relevant
information and I’m disturbed by this.@hailfrank can you find those asleep at the wheel and thrash them please?

this right here is broken Britain.

Hmm, I’m trying to recall how I used to do them in Spain. I’m vaguely thinking that there would sometimes be an external knob on the wall, or in a kitchen cupboard somewhere. Like the added isolation you get in a bathroom. You often had two knobs into the wall, possibly at high level, which isolated the water to the whole room. I will try and recall how I topped up similarly installs.

I thought from the post title I would be able to impress you with my knowledge of Spanish plumbing vocabulary

  13. Can you post up a picture of the under side of the boiler please. If its got a built in filling loop then its likely under there.
Failing that as already mentioned there is probably a remote fill loop external to the boiler.

They make perhaps some of the worst boilers known to man. Youre on to a winner there.
