It is, I can verify its flipping huge...we walked 2.5 miles yesterday 'not' double handling said boxes back up the garage...
The plan is to have a day off house stuff today and go out somewhere, we have had non stop 16 hour plus days on it since Tuesday, last night the kitchen sink which was a bad drainer anyway wouldn't empty so I took the U bend off and it was rock solid with limescale (smelt like a urinal if im honest) Mrs roo worked in care homes for years and reckons old people try and put 1's and 2's down the sinks? Ewwww anyway I left it soaking in bleach all night and just broke it all out with a screwdriver, 'twas a tad "lively" so it's back together now and draining well. I'll probably do the odd little job but I'm not planning on mauling much, work on Tuesday and I know it's gonna be mad next week.
Don't blame you for having a break. Months of stress with the sale and days of graft actually moving. It's well deserved.
The good news is my sink drains super fast now.... The bad? It has made the drain outside overflow, a quick lift of the manhole cover reveals a trickle on the out feed from the drain to the main sewer, flushing the bog reveals a good flow to the street sewer so I'd imagine the drain itself is just blocked with silt and crud from the washer etc...... Guess who's going to get his arm in later then lol.
Well that was fun...... Had a nice day out in Wem, got back 7.30 and thought I'd unblock the drain, no kidding I got out half a bucket of silt and gravel and God knows what..... And the stink? Ewwww I can taste it now, the drain now flows unbelievably fast and we have the charming smell of jeyes fluid all through the house, I had a nice bath and made Mrs roo pull the plug after i dried and dressed so I could watch it drain whilst shouting with glee, oohh it's draining lovely now lu come and look! (I'm easy pleased).
Electricians in today starting a total rewire, the cable is aluminium it's that old, fuse box like one of those big clonky boxes off of a Frankenstien movie..... What a mess, chasing walls out to add loads of sockets as there are hardly any here, plasterer been out to price up and gas man due sat to look at the old boiler and I'm hopeful I can tap him up to cap off the gas fire so I can knock the fireplace out.... It's gonna get worse before it gets better.
Used to live in a nice tidy house with all things tidy etc, can't live like this so need to crack on..... House will be all consuming this year, Techenders is my only concession - doubt van will see use any other trips this year.
Busy day today, my bro came over again so 1st job was to take up the Marley tiles. We then got on with taking out the retro fireplace, Soon came apart with some Hulk smash.... Andy shows the prize of the gold mirror insert.... Honest Mr gasman we didn't mess with the fire. Smashed the rest out then put the fire back until the gasman came to do it "officially" It's given us a fair bit more space but I need to fill and level the floor now.
So I'd booked the boiler service today and was hoping the man from British Gas was a nice man, he was and he capped off the fire for me, his first words when he saw the boiler were "Jesus! That's older than you!" He said if it failed he'd have to condemn it as parts were not available, they stopped making the make of boiler in 1984...... However, it passed with flying colours and the emmisions were really low so he was well happy (as was i as it takes the pressure off for a bit - and new boilers are cheaper in the summer).
