    Ongeluk.

  3. Anyone know what the id is of the servo take off on the type1 manifold?

  4. I'll have a measure a bit later - got one in the garage. The barb I fitted to my Dell manifold had an ID of about 10mm, OD 12mm, from memory.

  5. Right. Stock manifold ~12.5mm OD, ~10.5mm ID.

I used 12mm ID hose when I did my drilling. This would need an adaptor to fit the servo.

  6. That's is great Snotty. My balance pipe hose is 12mm ID. The two brass unions into the manifolds are 9mm ID so that should give enough for the servo I would have thought.

  7. Should be good enough, I'd think.

Keep us posted on how you get on...

  8. Taken the plunge. No going back now. Remote servo is on its way. how to to follow. I will take as many pics as I can hopefully the moderators can make it a sticky.

  11. I got it all from http://www.carbuildersolutions.com/uk/

Total cost was £356.00 delivered. That should include everything. I am sure you could source all the saundries like unions, vac hose etc even cheaper if you searched. I just go them all from the same place to save time. you could probable get it down a tenner or so. By the time you add postage, the kit from VWjim comes in at £430.

  12. Yep, I have a Sykes Pickvant flaring tool and a pipe bender. I replaced the complete brake system on my bay when I got it. All except the compensator as you cant get those anymore. I use Ni/Cu as it is better than just copper.

Sometimes you just got to bite the bullet and buy the kit at the price .it's defiantly a lot easier -providing EVERYTHING is there. Unfortunately more times than not there isn't everything so when you get halfway through a job it comes to a stop till missing parts are sourced. Hopefully all is there and the job goes smoothly.

  15. Is your bender (insert innuendo here) a hand-held or vice-mounted job? I've been looking at the hand-held bolt-up die jobs - are they any good?

  16. It is a hand held one. I got it from Machine Mart. it works perfectly. it is the flaring tool that is the Sykes one.
    one of these. https://www.machinemart.co.uk/p/cht264-3-in-1-automotive-pipe-bender/

The flaring tool is a hand held version too. Makes perfect ends every time. so much better than the cheap ones that come in the pipe kits. Worth keeping an eye out for one 2nd hand as they are expensive new. Pretty sure they cost about £200 new.
