Has anyone fitted a remote servo to a 72-74 bay?

  1. If you're LHD there's a front beam in classifieds with the bracket on...

  2. I am going to go down the remote route. No welding to do. Mine is RHD. thanks for the heads up though Deefer.

  3. Very sensible. You can put the servo anywhere - in the glovebox if you want ;)...

  4. Looks like the best place to mount it is under the cab floor. I have a rivnut tool so I will look into fitting 4 of those for the bracket. When I get all the stuff and get round to it I will post a How To. Looks pretty straight forward. Just need to get my pipe flaring tool back from my nephew now. Still have a load of Kunfier from replacing all the lines years ago. The suppliers of the remote servos say to use vac hose for the long run but I am wondering if the long run might be better done in a length of copper tube. Will have a think.

  5. Vac hose might be easiest. Biggest hassle is getting it out of the engine compartment. I drilled a hose-sized hole on the LHS near the wiring loom hole.

  6. That would be a good location, hole and rubber grommet will do a neat job.

  7. I am assuming I can just T into the Balance pipe for a vacuum link. I have weber 34 ict's linked by 12mm ID hose.

  8. Et voila...

  13. Have you got a vacuum take off already?

  15. I have a balance pipe fitted to both manifolds for the ICT's will they do the job? Is that not how it is done on Type 4 engines

  16. My aunts Feather????? I put it into google translate!

  17. You might need something bigger for the servo port. About 1/2" or 13mm.

  18. Is it not way cheaper just to fit the bracket and the Brazilian servo ? .

  19. That takes all the fun out of having your brake servo in the glove compartment ;)
