I'll just say, 18" long 4"x2" planed, staple gun, 40 or 60 grit (green stuff on a roll). Knock it back with that until the shape's right, then get fiddly with the finish. Are you filling in the seams? I hate it too BTW, I might have mentioned that before...
Seams are filled in Zed yeah - simply because we uncovered some poor looking areas & ok they are welded good, the seam lost its profile from the cill to about half way up! Cheers for the info on the wood, I'm on it! I think we're on grit 80 on a planer type sander about ten inch long, will try a bit coarser grit
I sometime feel mine should have a female name, it's certainly moody & hormonal enough (ducks for cover)
not done an update for a while but we are almost done with the filling work, left hand long side done, right hand side almost done with some work on the gutters and the rear end almost done - seals fit okay though, weve trialled them! some fine filling work, prep the roof and we are ready for paint!!
We're getting there now Dale, had a good few days flat ting back the filler this week, cheers for the comments!!
Been busy this week, filling and sanding is finished, we're mid clean down now ready for painting, lots of dust to get rid of! In the meantime we sorted Majors old tailgate out, in readiness to go on Gusbus
And also made a start sorting the PO's attempt at engine lid repairs the PO had trimmed the rot off the bottom and ground 5mm off the overlap on the outer skin We have got a replacement strip of steel sorted, just got a few rusty areas to sort out & repair & we have another tick
