I think he's genuinely overpowering, I've never heard anyone sing with him that didn't seem small and weak.
It’s probably great if you are there, and have consumed the appropriate mood enhancing substances… but yeah, it’s not great tv tbf
I went, on my bike, in 1978, from Morecambe, with someone else’s girlfriend on the back. I got there too late on Friday to see Sham 69, apparently Jimmy Pursey walked off stage after a punter hit him right in the nads with a full Party 7, which is what I call commitment, that’s a lot of beer to chuck. On the Saturday I watched Lindisfarne, which I enjoyed, but there was the mother of all empty beer can fights between the Lindisfarne fans and those who were already at the front. I’ve vague memories of falling over in the crowd while dancing to Status Quo later.
Wiggy’s still bang on as a genius pianist and tune smith, but I thought the audience stole the show when they got to sing, they nailed it!
Think I went in 77 on the back of some nutter's Trident. We camped in a play tent gained in exchange for weetabix tokens. I say camped... it was a 4ft play tent. It rained all weekend, zero sustenance on site, hells angels doing donuts in the mud around the camp site, people bottling each other. The lineup was actually quite good but I don't remember much of it apart from angry wet people throwing urine at each other and the stage, mud and blood. There seemed to be a lot of injured bleeding people about. At 17 I'd got the idea somewhere that music festivals were supposed to be chilled and friendly, it was quite a shocker TBH. Thought I'd try a different festival next time and went to glastonbury which lived up to expectations and then some.
Just seen a bit of Reg from last night, I can't say I get the enthusiasm for his performance... Sent from my SM-A326B using Tapatalk
My thoughts exactly. How anyone can have any rock credibility with those chubby little legs, I don't know.
Pah! You two! I thought Elton was amazing. Sure he looks to be a bit doddery. Might have a bit of arthritis in his knees. His voice was great through. And those tunes I get that if you’re not an Elton fan, you’re not an Elton fan, but I thought for a 76yr old fella he was on great form.
When did Axle Rose become Ian Beale? Thought slash was outstanding. Sent from my SM-G780G using Tapatalk
