My van, roof up.. Much work to be done, but it still has all its original interior including cushions and curtains

  4. Anyone got any pics or dimensions for the hole in the roof. I really want a Viking but don't want to cut my roof if possible.

  5. IMG01303-20120731-1313.jpg Mines actually a front hinged westy originally (imposter). I didnt cut anything out of the roof other than the westy (sunroof) hole. Did two things for me firstly it means I can convert back and secondly gives enough space for a double bed at the rear. (like a very late bay retro fit conversion orlike a Type 24 Viking. It is more ore less the same size bed platform as Ive got a T25 mattress from a viking up there)

Originally I did it as a rough and ready prototype but ive never found the time to redo it to a better standard.

  6. Cheers dicky. Ill have to do a bit of research on it.

  7. Thats the size of bed I slept in upstairs ,was there 2 late versions of the roof then?

  8. Im not an expert and I had only seen the double bed roof in T25s then had a closer look at a mates Devon which had a retro fitted Viking Super Six fitted by viking. Im guessing after they had moved on to converting the T25 (conjecture). Anyway that also had the double bed fitted. There are actually two different mouldings used for the Bay super 6 roof cap one of which has luggage rails in the middle of the roof and is lower above wher the hole is in line with the slider (look around you will find one.

  10. btw on a retro fit its perfectly feasible to put two doubles in the roof and still have room to get up and down, and you still have two foot or so gap to stand in to brew up and in the rest stilll more headroom than a tin-top, or even a westy for that matter (with the bed down)
