Front mudflaps?

Discussion in 'General Discussion' started by Dicky, Jan 12, 2016.

  1. the very fellow. Ive put the heater back in and seeing as how the other side still has a belly pan theres not much to bolt to. Will cobble something up. Possibly bolting to the front of the outrigger rather than the rear but its a bit close, especially with big tyres on!

    Possibly this?

  2. i have genuine rears but i made my fronts out of a black plastic watertank lid and used pop rivets ....rear ones on the front were too long

if there is a call for rear brackets as per genuine i could be persuaded to do a couple of sets ...

  3. why not just bolt/screw it to the front of the jacking point

  9. Not thought about the length. will offer em up again and see.

  10. Yes but later. I actually found em last night when looking for the mudflaps. Looked everywhere then realised they were safely in a box in the first place id looked! That's an hour of my life I wont get back, plus another hour tidying up the mess I made doing it!

Weeeeeellllll as a one time remover of front flaps so mounted and replacer of otherwise good front outriggers and jacking points, I have found the owners don't want them putting back on for some reason.

Think however you do it water must naturally run off rather than between. Even better to have a sacrificial metal bracket between the mud flap and van too.

  14. As an owner of a bus with aforementioned and previously sound yet of recent years less sound than one might imagine and patch welded for the MOT prior to potential replacement jacking points I would hasten to agree yet offer the fact that there's no other way of fookin doing it however it does occur that should I wish to benefit from the refitting of the cover ye ugly heater with a naff steppy thing then the avoidance of any protrusion into said jacking cavity may indeed be undesirable!

  15. the screws on mine allow the jacking point to still be used, they are quite high up

Specifically those nailed on the front, not tose on the rear where water at least has a chance of running off.

  17. Heres some pic's

The first screw you can see up the jacking point is the middle screw.

And as you can see the my table bracket still fits
