I had one, as you know....the issue, as far as fitting it, was that one of the brackets fixes to the lower section of the sliding door...I wasn't too happy about drilling/fixing into mine as it has been repaired rather than reskinned. I honestly don't know if I still have it stashed somewhere....you'd be more than welcome to it....but I reckon you'd come to the same conclusion...after all, it isn't really necessary....a nice accessory if restoring an og microbus...I'll have a look for it
Ok I have decided I'll make as a one off 5 sets of rear brackets ....in stainless with bolts etc .including postage @£35.00 Same as Dickies but I have some overrider brackets to make first
I hope you're going to nick the stuff from work and do it in your lunch hours when the boss isn't around... if the extension brackets will fit the engine bar mounts for a Type 1, I'll put my name down for a set as well...and Thanks for offering to run up a few sets
OK...I'm basing it on the assumption that the engine bar mounts for a type 4 motored bus are approximately the same size/shape/distance as those fitted with uprights... I'll have a measure later on and PM you a pic....
they will be the same as what Dicky has , they were copied from my original pair and fit the same as the guy on theSamba ..... i can make any changes and being stainless will not rust before you drive your bus .............
