There’s three in my years of holiday making.

My parents had a caravan in Borth Wales when I was growing up and we we would go every holiday and any free weekend. I love Borth with its fabulous beaches and the dunes at Ynslas. I drove my first car on the beach there and both my sons have done the same. People say Borth is quiet, but sometimes that’s just what you need on a holiday. I’ve walked miles around the area and it never fails to please me.

My second destination is Looe in Cornwall. I bought a bungalow by the beach there when my boys were small, then we did the same as a family as my mum and dad did in Borth and went as often as we could. My boys love it there and we have lots of very good friends down there. I think we will be going there into our dotage.

finally because my wife is Italian we have visited Italy many many times travelling the length and breadth visiting family and friends, but her dad had a villa in Calabria on a mountain overlooking the Mediterranean. That is possible the most beautiful place I’ve stayed at and sometimes I’d stay for a month.

    I do like an holiday.

Do you have any favourite places?

  3. When I was a kid we used to go down to Torquay and stay at my Aunties guest house, later on we would go to Jersey we thought it was going abroad because we went on a ship and it took 8 hours, I didn't have my first foreign holiday until I was 18 when I went on a lads holiday to Benidorm

  4. Visited my cousin in Papua New guinea, empty stunning beaches. You think you have to watch out for the sharks but it's the tiny mosquitoes that meant I came back with malaria :(

  5. Swanage in Dorset for us. Both my family and MrsNTFC's used to go there when we were kids and we've been going every year since our daughter was born for family holidays. The in-laws still go 3 times a year despite being in their 80's:thumbsup:

We had two main holiday destinations as kids. First there was Charmouth in Dorset which went on for a good few years, then we moved on to Barmouth. Neither has stayed with me as a favourite place. We tend to have tried different places and maybe only go back once or twice if we really like somewhere. Just looking at another trip to Soller in Majorca for next June. Air tickets seem to have had a big jump in price - possibly down to the loss of Thomas Cook flights. Jet 2 wanted nearly £800 for two return flights in June :eek::eek:

  14. Been to Egypt 5 times in the nineties. One cruise and 4 hotel stays in Luxor. The whole ancient Egyptian thing fascinates me, and I still watch all the tv programmes, probably over and over again. Not sure I would go back now with the way things are going.

  15. Rethymnon in Crete is a place we love heading to, lots of shops , taverna’s, the harbour and castle to explore.

Dent and Whitby are our other most returned to places, Dent to go hide away and unwind, Whitby as we’ve always been welcomed and it draws us back.

As a kid, it was always my grandads caravan site in Bognor Regis ...

As an adult, our most oft visited campsite is Trevedra farm near Sennen. Haven't had a chance for holidays the last couple of years, so hoping for a week down there this year!

  17. I've not been for well over 7 years now (had the van 7 years, coincidence?!), but we used to go almost yearly to a ski resort in Finland called Levi.

It has a very different vibe to the french resorts, and the first few years we went there were very few Brits there, mainly just the locals. I'd love to revisit soon.
