My musical memories of the early 80s . Hang on a minute... I shall ask the Mrs. I do know it involved a fair bit of swearing and copious amounts of snakebite! Rows with the Jips and Nazi skins and a few war trophy's for my trouble. music was live and john Peel was the font of all decent music! bring it back!
Went to a bash a while back to see a half a dozen acts as a sort of resurgence type of thing. Pretty sure it was a smallish venue somewhere in Cardeeefff Sailor, Rubettes, Showaddywaddy I think and a few more. But one of the things I remembered from that was the guys from Sailor playing their version of Karma Chameleon for us and it was great, then they was having a bit of a chat with the audience and telling us they’d actually written it but got nowhere with it but the royalties from Culture Club were very nice indeed thank you very much. They’d written quite a few more as well that you’d probably know. Ozziedog,,,,,,,who’d have thought
We had a you toooob evening not so long back, me and. Mrs Ozziedog, and we tapped onto Adam Ant and started playing a hit or two of theirs, then there were more and more pouring out, I’d forgotten how many great tracks they’d done. More than half a dozen maybe ten even top ten hits. Top dance moves too Ozziedog,,,,,,,,,,might even be a dozen
Maybe and maybe not. Turns out after a bit of investigation that Phil Picket (ex sailor) wrote a few of the lyrics and all of the music for Karma Chameleon and all the music for Church Of The Poison mind among other lyrics and music. But I am at the mercy of Mr Google plus what he said in a concert. I did love the way they banged it out on those piano type thingies very inventive. Ozziedog,,,,,,,,, dint know, that was his name.
