    :lol: yeah, Neil's version was when I was at Mortimer Wilson School in Alfreton, around 1982?

  11. It wasn't all one hit wonders & novelty acts in the eighties, there was the whole post punk thing and the New Romantics.
    Back in the day amongst many, many more, we went to see all of these bands;

    The Martha's covered Chris Spedding's Motorbiking

    The Hank B Hive show was a gamechanger & Michelle Collins (Cindy Beale) was one of the Marionettes.

    At one point in the show, there were eleven folk on stage, all hitting something

    And from the days before video screens, the finest live band in the world - ever

    Mostly I remember laughing (along) a lot with some smash hits between and leaving with a huge grin having been properly entertained. A working men's club band where being a good band was almost secondary, though they were a great band. Noddy Holder - what an amusing fellow. Theatre Royal in Lincoln, bleep and Bloop Butlins Ads and drummer's brain damage featured. He'd have the PC brigade on him now despite everyone seeing clearly poor old Don could barely bum chit on the drums but they weren't going to abandon their mate.
