Does your van take you beyond your financial means ?

the one good thing to come of this thread is to give me a nudge to reign in the stupid bits i'm buying for the van, i need to wind the unnessecary things up i reckon, must have stuff only for a bit i think.

Dan - you should be okay for one or two nights under 1yr - we got out with our friends who own a T4 at some very family friendly sites last year and their little one is just now coming up to one. We are more than happy to go family-friendly camping with you guys post squeaker

We bought the van with plans for taking future kids on holiday - if we get rid of Arthur we'd never be able to afford another van...
Same with Pinky ... Although I think we may wait until the Squeaker is 1 or 2 before we take it camping properly.

We have taken our daughter to Glastonbury in the camper twice, she was aged -3 months and 9 months. She loved every second of it, she actually slept better in the camper than at home!

Trick is just to be organised and go with the flow, yes you can't just lie in, go where ever you want, whenever you want without planning and now you will always have something to keep amused but you'd have that at home as well...

I find getting out and showing them new and exciting things wears them out more and they sleep better anyway. Mine slept through the whole of Beyonce at Glasto.

We got ours because my wife reckoned I was spending a lot of money on the boat and she wanted something expensive to run as well.

Really don't get the attraction of people buying things they can't afford.
That's because you're a single bloke with no kids on a good salary Doug. If you're in the position of not really being able to afford anything you want, sooner or later you say Flip it,you only live once. I lived in your world, now I live in a world where it's downhill all the way - got to have some fun on the way down chap. I'm lucky - I can't have a credit card now I need one because of my previous 100% perfect credit history. lol
