johnny, you could be right? that poor sticker i loaded says 7.5 btdc so it's deffo summat lol, i'm still happy at what zed explained that on tickover if it's out then as long as it runs it's better than being out at high throttle.

  5. yeah ...in that jim muir book theres a lil section about timing a automatic ,when im out in the bay ,ill take a pic for you or relay whats it says ....im sure it says sumthing about setting it slighty forward-higher-faster ..sumthing like that ...ill check ...im just sitting after being told 54 quid for a coil ....makes you wanna shoplift

  6. Ok...

From what I can tell, if you have a dual vac dizzy, Advance/retard, you set it to 5°ADTC with the vac hoses disconnected...

single vac SVDA dizzy, it's 7.5°BTDC

I do have some dizzy part numbers, so I can tell you what the book says for your dizzy (vw part number, not the bosch one ;) )

  9. been running one of these accu spark dizzys for 3 odd years now with no probs , they maybe chinese crap but with 3 years under its belt it was worth the dosh . ;) even if it broke tomoz i would just bin it and buy another , only thing ive had to do is change the rotor and cap once as part of a service but the original ones it came with were still working ok

  10. Like everything today .....u get goodens and bad ones......nearly every aftermarket product i bought is sub standard junk ...i now fork out for good quality stuff ......thats just my experience of course....peace out brother

    Famous last words
They only had the high spark version so had to buy one of there coils as well to match fitted it all ok but it misfires and cuts out when hot.
They have been very helpful and sending a replacement coil in the morning so will see
