Covering your steering wheel in string

Discussion in 'General Discussion' started by MrGrey, Jan 6, 2012.

  1. Ive just got home and my wife has wrapped/wound string around the steering wheel.

Looks good. But should it now be coated in something to stop the string slipping?

I've thought about painting a 50% PVA to water mix (with a dash of washing up liquid) over the string.

Has anyone done this string thing?

And can anyone guess how many metres of string it took to cover our thrashed steering wheel? :D

think i'd have coated it in PVA mix before i wound it on, would be messy but would make sure you get a real good penetration! so start unwinding please and do it all again ;)

  6. gaffer tape it.

  7. I'll send her out to unwind it in a minute. >:D

The tech bit to help with the guessing

It's standard post office string, cost £1.05 per ball. Made by that traditional string manufacturer - Club

  8. Mango bay - very poor guess! Try again ;D

  11. Just the wheel :) spokes are untouched and the centre is now 90% milliput

  12. sANDYbAY - incorrect

Who ever guess it correctly can win the prize of a poor quality, hand crafted by myself, tiki god magnet ( 100% Milliput)
