If you cover it you’re more inclined not to use it, I give mine a good anchor waxing, stick the propex on and drive the bloody thing, there’s a family near to me who put the cover on in Sept and it comes off the following May then they wonder why it’s covered in mildew and the brakes are seized, idiots
I drive my mgb top down in the winter. Keeps it going and I wrap up warm and its fun. Use it or lose it.
Why do you have your top down, do you like to show off your hairy chest, I bet your nipples are like organ stops when you’ve finished..... it’s a sports car you meant the roof down on the car didn’t you
Talking of which did you know ex Chelsea captain Dennis Wise was part of the gang that vandalised the blue peter garden https://www.theguardian.com/uk/2000/oct/21/1
@Barry Haynes pm'd me and told me he did this as it doesn't chafe as much when he's sliding up and down the big silver pole on a Friday night in the Pink Flamingo!
Back on topic. Drive it on dry days. Or expect a stupid breakdown due to something gummed up. If you are in the south of the UK the number of days roads get salted is quite low so you are not even really risking that. Winter time means you are more choosy about when to go out in the bus... but when I look back at a graph of mileage against time for the last 60000 miles and 7 years use its almost a straight line. Winter barely shows.
I keep mine under a car port but with no cover. I did have a 'breathable' cover but it still seemed to get damp between the cover and the bus, was a pain to have to remove it when I wanted to go for a drive and if it rained when I was out I had to wait for the bus to dry off before I could out it back on, all the while keeping the cover dry inside. It's on a bit of a slope so I leave the handbrake on as I prefer that to putting chocks behind the back wheels. Occasionally the brakes will stick on if it's been very wet but rocking it back and forth soon frees them. Every couple of weeks or so I take it for a run but also connect it to a CTEC charger on a regular basis so that the main and leisure batteries are kept charged.
