Right first an apology to @vanorak for failing to remember to measure the triangle i will do it tomorrow, promise. Today was a short day, just 8 to 2.30 so between the coffee we cobbled together most of the kitchen unit. Pics speak for themselves, with a trial run in the bus to determine if the gas locker fits as measured before gluing & screwing the carcass up. This is a real technical instal as we are working to tolerances to literally the mm. as cupboard space is being maximised due to the loss to the bed projection. Laminate edging has been made from the sheet as opposed to buying in edge-banding material. This keeps colours consistent. Here the edge is being "polished" to remove high spots. Glued and pocket screwed Fridge box end side panel Test fit. We've decided to cut-out the cabinet and mount the gas locker directly to the subfloor and seat back. It gives a few mm more room for the internal dividers in the cabinet. Gas locker in place The inside of the fascia has been rebated and the dividers glued in. This will be dismantled tomorrow & we'll cut out the sink/hob aperture using a template I made earlier today. It's coming together well so far
No need to apologize @theBusmonkey .....looks like you've been a busy bunny So you've come out quite far in relation to the bulkhead....that's an extra two packets of smash worth of storage right there x 2
Don't make the same mistake as someone I know, who simply drew round his sink and routed to the line.... and no....it wasn't me.....
LOL your thread edit answered the obvious question! The only difference between the Westy original cabinet dimensions and the new one is about 3 inches off the width. It's an expensive reduction!! & it would be tragic to cut a lumping great hole out of that laminated board to find the sink went right through Good story though, who was it ?
Throw in a Pith helmet and some tiger pelts, you got yourself a campaign theme going on....(Have we been here before? )
So rry for hijacking monkster - last word - Its definately missing a tigreskin rug! Should be ok to park next to @zed s gentlemans club do you think?
does he associate with riff raff? Oh yes, i think he may well do you're looking at multivan set up....captains at the front, hinged table, and rear bench....I can't see how you can incorporate a unit without putting it on sliding rails...or lift outs
