Of the urettor variety not the ohydrates. If you, say, had a type 4 of around 1910cc what would you recommend in the way of carbs, reliability and little fecking around being high on the list, performance secondary.
A nice set of 40mm 914 solex carbs Or A nice set of 40mm dellortos Or A nice set of 44mm Weber IDF Take your pick and I'll let know how much
What I want is fit and forget, I'm not one for *******ing about once stuff is done, do it once, properly.
FI then as carbs always require some form of tinkering regardless of how good they are. If it was a type 1 I'd say stick with a stock carb but a single carb on a type 4 is pretty crap, so its twins or FI
I wouldn't try it. The original FI is likely to be set up for the engine size it was intended for. I'd doubt you could significantly mod it for different engine sizes. They're a bit crude by today's standards.
2l if it was fitted to a 2l They are a rudimentary system... they work on airflow into the engine, so if you go bigger, then you can essentially run the engine lean!!
