I thought that was basic - start by trying to explain it by text, realise it isn't going to work, then cant be arsed to re-write it, so lob in picture at the end in the hope people get the gist....

  4. it worked for New Labour...

actually, the question was "do you happen to own a tape measure and some verniers?"

  5. Hey PP2...that guy I was on about has just joined the forum in case you hadn't noticed....

I have friends that I've know for years that would never think to ask me such a personal question! I'm outraged!

But as its you asking, yes, yes I do!

  9. can you lend them to Zed...preferably tomorrow...just as he's pulled this engine? or is that asking a bit much?

  10. I think I'm into mine for less than £100, but then I picked up a 915 box, so my bellhousing is now on my engine starting stand!! So next job is to make a mount for the slave cylinder to fit on the new box!!

  11. Ah! I see what you did there...covert;)
plus it never hurts to further pedal salacious rumours...

  12. definitely the cheaper option...just like the idea of keeping the stock housing if it's doable

    Absotootally:thumbsup:

  14. it's either that or make myself a servo assisted caliper for my right leg

  15. that's going to be my thread for tomorrow....actually...I'd need a left one
like this but with a garret turbo[IMG]

The answer is more simple. When correctly adjusted you only need about half the pedal travel. Play safe and divide the distance from the pedal cable fixing point to the pivot by 3, drill a hole and move the cable to the new position. Hey presto clutch effort reduced by 1/3, a longer bitey/slippy range and all for the price of a hole. :)

  17. Wouldn't you have to move the cable closer to the pivot point to reduce the pedal pressure??

  18. thought about this also...longer (or cranked) clutch arm...different pivot point....could really do with an animated CAD to figure out the advantage
then there's all that groping around under the bus to think about....
even thought about a pulley wheel

That's what I'm suggesting so same pedal movement pulls less cable with more torque. I haven't tried it or even looked.
