Bumper nut caps

  1. My JK ones needed trimming on the inside to fit onto the bolts properly. They've lasted a whole year so far though...

Mine must have been 'medium' quality because they all lasted one whole week before splitting. I couldn't believe that anyone bothers selling such rubbish, but it's not worth the hassle of sending back. Been meaning to get it off my chest so well done to lewblew for starting this thread!

  3. I agree, although they are still about £1.50 each so a rip off for what they are!

Anyway, the JK ones arrived today and they are different to the VWH ones. They don't have a hexagonal bit in the middle, it's circular and a bit deeper. Gone on and not broken yet... I'll let you know if they do :)

  4. i got mine from Schofields at Stonor they went straight on no trimming and no cracks perfect

1050Ron - Stonor was a whole two weeks ago - have you checked them today?

  6. @mcswiggs funny you should say

Yep checked and they are still there :D

  17. I'd just like to clarify that although I pointed at your nuts and said, 'they look Marmite'
At no point did I urge you to rush out & buy the first/cheapest nut covers you could find.
I seem to remember that when I bought mine in 1999, I bought them from Volkswagen and 15 years later one has split, a bit.

    I rest my case.

    :p

  19. Nut covers still intact.

  20. I use stainless steel button cap bolts... none of this cheap plastic splitting issues that way ;)
