Break down with a difference .

  1. Was winched onto lowloader, I was sat in steering so can only assume rear wheels were dragged. It's expected to be delivered to my home this afternoon so I will know more then.

  2. Surely you would hear them screeching or scrapping along the tarmac, I would disconnect the drive shafts and that will give you an instant answers brakes or gearbox diff etc.
If it came to a sudden halt you say engine was still running and you switched it off, if it all locked up it would have stalled the engine?
    just curious

  3. I initially thought it was a near side rear brake failure, I haven't had any opportunity to inspect anything yet as I had loads of trouble with recovery people ( that's another thread for later on ) so today it's being collected from recovery yard by another recovery company expected any time !

  4. Now then Chris I know at least 5 Lancaster firemen , I wonder ...............

  8. Low loader arrived at 6.30, the rear wheels are now turning freely as it was winched off the ramp had to leave it outside garage due to having to go and play badminton with family . So will have a look in morning (dodging work again ) and report back . Plus it's chucking it down ☹️

  10. If its not the gearbox, and is only a brake issue i'll be well chuffed, fingers crossed . Having said that finding the cause quickly will be a result too.
Maybe the brakes have freed off due to cooling , I have a theorey that it could be a sticking piston in the caliper that is the problem !

  11. I hope it's just brakes.
They can stick on slightly if they have the self adjust bit that requires a tool to wind the piston back in when fitting new pads. Being Porsche calipers I would suspect that this is the case.
Out of interest is it running a standard master cylinder with the big Porsche calipers?

  14. As far as I know yes, but the servo does look "oversized" i'll post a pic tomorrow . If it is only a standard servo will this be a problem?

  15. was it telepathic ? :D

  17. To be fair I've only been out now a few times in it but the brakes ( after a good bleeding) are really good, no pulling etc.

  18. Fair one G but if you can't manage to sort it on the drive by Sept (I know you will) just let me know & we'll sort something out.
