  3. not a hell of a lot to show really as i have been filling sanding filling sanding.......you know the score lol

    took the dash out as someone had hand painted it....and failed the whole thing!!!

    so thats it...................oh, and as of April 1st 2014 i will not be paying any tax on the old gal -BOOM!!!!!!!

    I swear it, the skills displayed here would put a lot of so called professional VW restorers to shame... Great job .........

  6. just a few more of the bodywork as its almost complete, had to sand the entire roof down as the paintwork was shockingly bad....getting closer to painting it :)

  9. yeah the hubcaps are foul lol......so, my first attempt at spraying, quite enjoyed it but I'm going to get a half decent gun for the top coat....all good fun :)

    its always a moral boost getting it in one colour even if it is primer, looks great and top coat cant be too far off either

    happy days !!!!!!

  15. so I've gone back over and filled and sanded and then filled and sanded some more until finally the body is all done and ready for paint, seeing as my compressor and gun aren't man enough for the job I have a friend doing the spray job for me, not sure when it will be done as his workshop is getting finished of atm (fingers crossed not to long) so I have been itching to take the engine out and get in and sort the engine bay.....tonight I ripped that beast out and am ready to go :)

    you've probably all seen an engine ripped out a billion times but I'm keeping my build up to date ;)

    still aiming for the 2014 VW season - BOOM!!!!!!

    If you want me to have a look at your tailgate lock, bring it in tomorrow...and the key you want to use in it, as I have a couple taken apart at the moment

  18. yeah dude I got straight on it when I got home, only wanted to get her on the ramps but then went the whole hog lol......pretty easy job and very satisfying!!!

    will have to look for the lock dude its in the room underneath piles of Marmitee lol

    plenty of time to shine up that engine while your waiting for paint
