Bowzers build

Discussion in 'Restorations' started by bowzer, Feb 21, 2013.

  1. ok, i bought her in sept 2012, all works bu needed body work, it was local, running and a tin top pretty much what i was after. Plans, get the body sorted and get he on the road by May time, enjoy the season then take her off the road around Nov for other jobs etc.

she is a 73 crossover, i am changing the front to the early look as its my prefered look (dont hate - love ;) bodywork as follows, replacefront arches, rear arches (change to early) rear corners, rear valance, battery tray, rear lower inner arch bits on both rears, all jacking points outriggers except one, replace seat belt mounts and repair all other rusty bits :p

both front doors, side door, engine lid and rear door needed repair work, roff corner plus roof dent needed attention and rear window sills needed fixing.....pretty standard, just needed to crack on

the finish for me is to get it useable, drive it and enjoy it, i love the VW scene and love the vehicles, im not going showroom standard as i'd be to scared to use it lol...i am doing all bodywork and spraying myself so please feel free to abuse and have a chuckle

(i have a ton of pics so will upload a few at a time.....they should be all on in a few days)

    cheers - big love :)

the day i bought her, drove her home ;)

  17. Nice work buddy

  18. Very nice, its coming along

  19. It staggers me what people hide under the filler and paint for future owners to find. The effort they must put in to craft the finish.. True artisans....;)

Top work - hats off to you.
