Im looking at your photos on a computer now. The original one on the left looks much better/more original to me. Are you thinking about painting the chrome (silver coloured metal)? I think that would be a bad idea. Are your wheels already at the Fuchs company? If you have your wheels with you, buy some Mothers polish and give that ago before spending loads. The porsche people use Vaseline/Petroleum jelly to clean the anodised bits apparently. Leave on overnight, it sucks the grime out, then clean the petroleum jelly off. Im easily confused so you may just be thinking of having the black bits painted.
I have a set of 4 originals Fuchs. 2 are in overal good used shape but far from mint. The left one on the picture is one of those 2. 2 where already badly repainted and need to be refurbished. I first thought of leaving the 2 better ones alone and having only the 2 other repainted. You can only see one side of the vehicle at a time, can't you ;-). Pit at TFC try to find the best match of original finish, but it is kindy hard to replicate. I know that I will not have a perfect match, but try to find the best compromise.
What do you buy during a pandemia? Redrilled hubs and rotors for you bus! Nice works, but the lug nuts will be screw in both the hub and rotor. Looks meaty enough, but a bit scary...
Thanks. Not too much defects. I will have to paint the engine bay, he didn't do it, I don't know why? Can't wait to have a bit of time to get back on it.
Got me some tinted Raptor liner in savanha b eige and ask the supplier if he could make me some 2k polyhuretane paint also in savanha, for all the small bits that will need to be done during reassambly. Not to expensive and though.
Got a pic of my wheels from Pit at The Fuchs Company. Still not get the chance to see them live, but I'm already pretty happy. Still need to find some time to put all this mess together.
Never heard of Raptor liner before but am now thinking about using it on the underside of my bus when I come to repaint it... thanks for the tip. Sent from my SM-T813 using Tapatalk
