Java green to bulge/swage and lotus white the top half and roof. Definitely go with Java green though a good choice imho.
Thanks yoy, but I'm a newbie, seriously. I bought this bus thinking it will be quick and easy. I bought a mig welder and start cutting. My first weld were crap, second too. I redo numerous time my work to achieve something acceptable.I spend countless hours wondering how to do something. It was very demotivating at time. But, as I was single, I had lot's free time and like working on this thing. Now, with a 6 years old son and soon a daughter, free time is minimal. I learned a lot's with my friend rudi. I wish he came at the beginning of the resto, it would have speed up my learning process by 100.
And my bus b-eige will be. I hesitated a lot with java green and finally choose savannah b-eige. Not the most original choice, but I had a very hard time to get a mental picture of my van painted green. Painter told me it will start working on it next monday... Fingers crossed...
I'm cleaning and sorting bolts and nuts for the painter, but I can't remember those bolts? Do some of you have an idea?
Good catch. It was in a box from the front of the bus. If only I took more time to sort those stuff first...
Progress on the paint work on my bus is a bit more slow than expected. Or did I expect it ? The painter paint the inside of the cab last Saturday. It feels good to see some paint on this rig.
At least a positive note with all that covid19 mess. Painter will finally have enough time to paint my bus.
To take a break of the covid19, here is a picture the Fuchs Company send me to compare with an original finished Fuchs wheel. I have hoarded a set for maybe 14 years, when they were more affordable. Original on the left, refinished on the right. What do you guys think?
Only the right one is repainted, the left one is still anodised from the factory. I would like to find a close match of the factory anodisation.
I ask, and €£$... Without garanty of a result as oem. So, I hand the job to Pit at The Fuchs Company, north of France last Juny at EBI. He is working to find the best paint match to restore Fuchs.
On my phone both the Fuchs look good, I'll look on my computer. I don't know about adonising or painting them, but the chrome bits come up lovely using Mothers aluminum & magnesium polish. My Fuchs are fully chrome/paint removed before I got them. I rarely clean them but, mothers brings them up lovely when I do. Be very careful what you use to clean them. I'll add a photo of the mothers product.
