You are right about 2 way family favourites including other places besides Germany - but I think I was Cyprus they broadcast from as well.

That would figure as I inherited a Philips L1x75T, a positively tiny, or so it seemed to us on the far side of the pond, transistor radio that my dad had picked on a trip to Eindhoven. That would have been around 1958. I put some batteries in it the other day to see if it still worked..it did.
