http://genome.ch.bbc.co.uk/schedules/bbcone/london/1968-05-18 Brilliant site that lets you see what tv and radio was on, on any given date from 1923 Dr who, man from uncle and the match of the day my dad was watching and missd me being born!
Having looked at 20th December 1965 I shall never moan about whats on telly again. I don't we realise how lucky we are!
I remember when we had our first tv. I think it was 12 inch, and BBC only. Then later when ITV launched my dad fitted a tuner so we could get both channels. There was a big knob on the side of the set that you had to turn to change channels. I was married before I had my first colour set
Two way Family favourites between the UK and the BAOR broadcasting service....can just remember some of that stuff. Think it went three way at some stage with the inclusion of Gib or Malta. As for tv we weren't in Europe when it was first kicked off so nothing seen until a visit in 1960. Waiting for the valves to warm up on my dads superhet receiver and tuning in to London with the usual whistles of frequency misalignment.
