Yes ! I’ve had those for years and very helpful for those blind spots Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Just a update on the convex mirror glass . Mine's a LHD and obviously on the motorway you've got a lethal blind spot right along the offside when you need to pull out and overtake . I've tried a few solutions over the years , various small mirrors etc and bought the convex replacement a while ago but have only just got around to fitting it to an old broken original and all I can say is ......... WOW !! Totally transforms your rear view with at least another 50% wider view - you can see all three lanes . An absolute revelation - every Left hooker should have one fitted !! Just saying like ....
I fitted this one - you need to have a bare mirror frame , i.e remove the glass and plastic surround if it has one . https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/372202586074
Do you just reuse the plastic surround from the glass you’ve removed or are these held in by some other method? Just recently bought the stainless mirrors from Schofields but wouldn’t mind wide angle view.
Nope , the glass is sized to fit without the plastic frame and secured by adhesive pads around the edge . I found it best to use double thickness pad in the middle where due to the curve the mirror sits further away from the frame, other than that it's straightforward Sent from my SM-G960F using Tapatalk
So it sticks directly on to the existing mirror glass? Just trying to figure if I need to try to prize the existing glass out or not.
As i said before - remove glass and plastic . The original VW stainless mirrors don`t have the cheapo plastic trim ... It`s really not worth trying to save the mirror or trim - sacrificial
Just received in the post. Looking forward to sticking those on , finished with a 4x2 frame Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
