Not really, think of all the tariffs we can put on imports from the EU

Problem is it takes years for the EU to form a trade deal with anyone. So being out means we can sort ourselves out without having to agree with the rest of the member states.

    From the BBC HYS:-

    What is there to negotiate?

We'll carry on buying billions of pounds worth of your exports. You can carry on buying ours. If you want to ruin your economies then we'll go to WTO. In every other case, we're going our own way.

No ECJ. No budget contributions. No regulations. No compulsory immigration. No fishing in our waters. No preventing our trade elsewhere.

A small majority voted that they believed Britain should leave the EU. The scale of SNAFU that politicians will make of it leaves their children believing they should not have.
The fewer EU institutions we leave , the fewer our children will have to renegotiate to enter again. And it will probably include the right to free movement in the EU...

Its all going to be a massive painful waste of jobs and money. The EU may be broken but the UK was last "great" in about 1910, bloated off sucking an empire dry, just before it all got much worse.

I have already lost one job through reasons associated with Brexit. I almost wish that experience on others who voted leave.

  8. It seems to me that lots of key industries are keen to stay part of the customs trade union. would we face losing employers such as Nissan and Toyota if the yhave to pay EU import tax to export to the EU? Surely our government can negotiate continuing membership of this.

    Yep.
The remoaners still don’t want to accept it though.

  10. If it was a small majority voted the other way,we would not be having this conversation.

  11. Yes we can charge import taxes but is that not just making everything more expensive both exports and imports.

Indeed . We could get on with actually making things better by working on them rather than creating a distracting crisis we could do without.
