Are new Citroens as bad as they seem?

ot on leasing they arent. Weve had a 1.6 tdi convertible SE Bluemotion on 3 years personal leasing for £250 inc VAT Its hard to beat that when you put into account depreciation if you bought a new citroen. Citroens are interestingly more expensive on leasing presumably because the resale value is less and they need more parts when they go wrong. Oh and the "Cactus" is hideous!

  3. I seriously considered a ds5 hybrid for the missus as they are really nice looking and have some cool kit. Put off by:-
    A) pcp cost due to massive depreciation
    B) clacksons road test where he suggested that all of the electrics would stop working after 6 months because it's French

  4. Must be true if Clarkson said it! Lol

I love my Citroen C15 van. Admittedly the door has dropped where the restraining strap snapped as the door blew open to quick, however, a shoulder barge does the trick. The load space is massive and as its so basic there isn't much electrics to go wrong :)

  7. Just got rid of the Saxo Vtr after 8 years or so of pretty cheap motoring. Replaced it with a C3 which is very tinny but I quite like it. It isn't however new as its nearly 7 years old. Don't know about new ones though.

  8. Yes make sure you get it serviced every 10,000 miles and not 12,000 with the proper total oil as the oil can gunk up and start messing with the turbo which is £600+ job. Also check around the tops of the injectors for oil leaking as we had to have 2 of those replaced, plus a turbo on our 2008 model and it's only done 50,000 miles with us putting 35k of those on it. Apart from that the 1.6 Berlingo Multispace is the best car we've ever had as it comfortably seats all 5 of us plus all our stuff when going away and return over 45mpg

  11. Looked at ds3 for mrs b and we bought a golf what a car!! I have had bmw mercs and a jag the golf is as nice as a big car well impressed

  12. Welcome  I've got a mate with a fairly new Merc, and the interior is creakier/plasticker than my Golf.

  13. Not sure what merc that would be. I've just got the new C220 after 3 A4's and a BMW 320d and it's the best car I've had, well it will be once I understand all of the technical trickery on it

Same here. The C is a lovely car!
Watch out for the auto braking though; that's horrible.

  16. I think that we discussed that at Techenders. Have you tried changing the sensitivity in the settings menu?
Can only be done when stationary and pretty well hidden but can be done, you may even be able to disable it. Though I'm not sure how that would affect your insurance if you had an accident!

Ye we did. I forgot about it until now though.
I'll have a look this afternoon, cheers!

  18. citroens have always been a bit quirky. from odd speedos on the bx, hydro suspension on xantias etc, c4's where the centre of the steering wheel doesnt turn.
a nice break from the norm
their direct competitors cars are no better or worse, just a matter of opinion. except the c4 grand picasso of course, they really are rubbish!
