Yes I think so and they're very lowly caste. He spent 9 months there from North to South so was off the beaten track most of the time.

  2. Swim, swim, swim, Ms Cat. Best form of exercise! By a Jamaican wooly-top to stick on your dreads.

  3. is it to lose weight and increase fitness or just to lose weight? Check out 5:2 intermittent fasting. it involves fasting for two days a week (well, not proper fasting but fewer calories for two days) and has all the benefits that fasting brings. http://thefastdiet.co.uk/

i've been fasting for years just because at times it made me feel better but closer research reveals that it's really good for your health and body at a cellular level. it's actually really remarkable.

this is the programme i sent to a friend recently who wants to lose weight and is worried about her chubby hubby being a prime candidate for heart problems http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b01lxyzc

...and if you don't like swimming, do something else... like jogging. you could jog over to me and sort my washing machine dilemma out and i could reward you with a big plate of nothing to help! bargain! :D

i.e. if she's going to diet, he feckin well is too!

  5. cynical ol' git!... she wants to and hopes it'll encourage him to too (this'll be difficult) as he's carrying more extra middle weight, has a stressful job and she'd like him to be around for as long as poss. :)

we all know that less fat means healthier bods but fasting has massive benefits too... our bodies were designed to go without at times which aids cellular repair. dunno about you, but i could do with some of mine repairing :)

    Cheers @Ermintrude
I'm wanting to lose weight AND get fitter! I'm 50 next year and figure I'd best stay as fit as I can for as long as I can. However, this is let down by my general laziness and fondness for beer :)

  7. Doesn't humping central heating boilers around keep you fit ;)?

  10. There you go! A bit of light demolition work will keep you fitter than running aimlessly on a treadmill while listening to "Boogie Wonderland" :)...
