I need a massive swim hat!!!

I'm rapidly becoming a super tubber and although I detest swimming as : I'm rubbish at it, I don't like water on my face, I hate getting my hair wet
I realise it would be good exercise for me - however I really don't want to get wet hair in this cold climate as it will never dry :( my old large swim hat is now too small I've seen one on ebay from oz but wondered if they actually work.

Anyone got big hair and can recommend a waterproof swim cap?

  3. I had dreads and did the same thing. I used to avoid water in the winter as my dreads never dried!

This should keep both hair and face dry.

It was ok when I lived in Spain, not so good here! I can't really wait til June/July as I will be a barrel!

@rickyrooo1 I sometimes use a carrier bag when I can't find my shower cap :)

Son cut his off in the end - far too much hassle and when he went to India where they're a bit conservative nobody treated him with respect until he chopped them off. He said it was like someone turned on a switch to make him visible.

I thought they had religious men in India who have dreads? When I cut mine short when I was at college I was passed by in the street by people I knew!

I tried breast stroke once at the beach, the magistrate said I was a very naughty boy.
No dreads but long hair & swim on a regular basis & just let the sun dry my hair.;)

  12. That works in the summer but not in winter, dreads are like a thick rope, they will dry on the outside and stay wet on the insides, sadly this is when they start smelling and going rotten.

I miss the invisable nature of having my dreads gave me. No one expected anything of or from you.
