High gloss walnut clip n click. I have fitted loads. Did my first job nearly 24 years ago when I was building. Probably done 30 floors and recently did my garage conversion in laminate flooring. It really isn't difficult for me,but I was trying to offload some work so as I can get other stuff done.

  3. Thinking a bit more about it, is laminate a good idea in the kitchen? I thought Water was bad on it.

The stuff I bought is C4 and has a 20 year guarantee against water ingress. Unfortunately I just read a review where a chap said his lifted in the kitchen after 12 months. The company sent out a engineer and the guarantee was voided, because although he had it fitted professionally, the floor was uneven and created a gap where the water got in. He was fuming: hence me saying I wanted it laid properly. My floors are very even btw, so some vain hope there. o_O

  5. Hmm, so it's not really the laying, it's the getting the floor level first.

  11. I'd ring the lad up tell him you'll bung him fifty notes but you lay it together, this way you will get help & your floor down plus this lad who's obviously keen to do it because he probably wants to buy his poor old mum a nice Xmas prezzy & you can feel proud that you may have helped someone out! Although he could also need the cash to spend on drugs & hookers?
