Sadly it seems many folks on here know someone who has been affected by the virus or died from it, so clearly the virus is widespread and will represent a threat for some time to come. The only way we have at the moment to deal with the virus is to strictly keep to the Government advice to reduce our personal risk. Each person who catches it could infect many others and so rapidly increase the numbers. Stay home Stay Safe Save the NHS. We cannot reasonably expect the NHS to help everybody if the numbers needing treatment keep increasing, so the aim must be to keep the numbers low so the NHS can cope using the resources they have. Remember, the NHS workers are human beings like us and they are at high risk and sadly many have been affected, are off sick or died. We haven't got an inexhaustible supply of trained medics and if many are off sick, the NHS will struggle to provide the services. Sticking with the lockdown is vital for us all, however long it takes.
Well said @mgbman A friend of mine who is a nurse has it and due to being asthmatic is a bit concerned (understatement). whilst other folks are putting their lives at risk serving us , the least we can do is not put them under extra pressure
Fine for the retired like you and I. I really hope they let the young uns get back to work ASAP TBH, we can still keep out of the way easy enough.
