I've already told the agents that he made the place un sale able.also there was a home made loft conversion complete with kamikaze stairs and a built in wardrobe made from railway sleepers .the smell stayed with me
This is so right, we got our house for a snip because the chap selling it was wierd but insisted on doing the viewings himself. It was 1850 house and every internal door had an original lock for some reason. Every door was locked - he had a big bunch of mahoosive keys and unlocked a room at a time to show us and locked them as we left. Every room had thick net curtains. A troublesome teenager had the master bedroom and every sq inch was covered with throwing knife wounds, door, walls, ceiling... It had been on the market for years for some reason. lol When we got in the cellar he unlocked 2 huge padlocks on a metal gate and said "this is where I keep my guns".
Another house we viewed the ee wouldn't come round. We unlocked, went in and stood in the lounge wondering at the corner of the cellar door knawed off by rats and there was an increasing patter/rustling sound. F me it was fleas! Millions! Quick look at the duck poo splattered kitchen and run!
A long, long time ago, went to view a flat owned by a Mr Death......apparently it was pronounced "Day-ath", but I'll always remember him fondly as Mr DEATH!
Best thing for sure is do not be there for viewings. Detach yourself and let go. You're moving on to better things.
They had a 15 x 30ft dog pen in the garden and left hunting dogs barking all day. The throwing knife once landed between the neighbour's feet - he liked to throw it up randomly as high as he could in the garden. Even i was a welcome new neighbour after them.
open the back door before you let them in the front door , i think the airy feel works everytime , gets rid of stale farts too
In ours that would have resulted in one of the 36" wide doors slamming in the wind and noticeably shaking the whole house. God I'm well out of there, I'd forgotten about that. Hope the buyers like it.
Good call on decluttering, makes the place look bigger. Boxes in storage now makes moving later easier too.
